About Me

Neil R Thomson
I am an Edinburgh-based teacher and writer. Among my other interests, such as visiting prehistoric hillforts (an almost-unknown treasure of Scotland) and playing silly boardgames, I enjoy wine tasting and eating well. To anyone who wants to be a better wine-taster, I would suggest that the double disciplines of blind tasting and, in particular, knowing that at a later date one is going to have to produce and publish a coherent note on every wine, force an attention highly conducive to educating one's palate. In this spirit, I will use Cavolo Nero to help myself learn about wines, food and restaurants, and be delighted if anyone else reads it, too.
