From the Thracian
Valley in southern Bulgaria, made with the signature Bulgarian grape variety
Mavrud, which typically produces full, tannic reds.
A rather dark wine with
a clear cassis smell, but with none of the earthy, woody or gamey flavours that
make good Bordeaux so attractive. Fresh and clean, though; I think mint, N1
says cinnamon. More medium-bodied than full, rather rough tannins, with
surprising acidity (beetroot?). Pleasant as a food match, simple, not going
anywhere.
78/100
