An oaky, fruit-forward Rioja reserva, still quite
tannic with a somewhat harsh finish. Berries are classic Rioja; here
blackberries, with the maturing hint of mushrooms and, on the second day we
have it open, a very attractive but elusive floral note – really just a hint
though, perhaps a promise of better things to come with a bit more aging.
Flavourwise this is right down my street, although it has to be said it is hardly
the silkiest Rioja ever.
