Manzanilla Las Medallas de Argüeso

“Salted apple,” says N1 as soon as she smells this. It’s extremely salty; the most saline Manzanilla I’ve tried. By contrast, the fruit flavour and flor character are muted. I find the mid-palate curiously flat; it reminds me both of mature white Rioja (oxidised, dry and an almost intangible fruit character; good) and a flat fizzy drink (not so good). The relatively low acidity rears up a little at the finish, a briny backwash.
